Basic First Aid

The CPR Plus Basic First Aid course focuses on illnesses and injuries commonly found in adults and adolescents. Conducted by an on-site CPR Plus professional, this American Heart Association (AHA) class teaches the golden industry standards required for healthcare providers, schools, and OSHA compliance.

CPR Plus delivers convenient in-person training to your office space to accommodate your company’s schedule. We also assist individuals who are seeking Basic First Aid certification by offering classes at multiple locations throughout the St. Louis area.

Upon successful completion of the course, a certification card will be issued within 24 hours or even the same day of the class. The card is valid for two years.

Students are methodically guided through the following areas:

  • Surveying the scene
  • Recognizing signs and symptoms of illness, shock, and injury
  • Treating patients with injuries
  • Controlling bleeding
  • Bandaging and splinting
  • Transporting patients
  • Treating victims for shock
  • Treating victims with head injuries
  • Recognizing and treating other serious illnesses and injuries
  • Triage principles
  • Legal aspects of providing first aid

The Basic First Aid course is ideal for individuals, groups, and workplaces interested in understanding how to properly perform first responder care in emergency situations.

CPR Plus also offers the HeartCode® Basic First Aid program, a great option for students who want to learn outside of the traditional classroom setting.
